Group 2 (National Plan for Teaching Swimming Stages 9 & 10) further develop the basic skills and learn the corewater polo skills including: slope and tilt position, stopping and starting, changing direction, short walking & shortsculling, active blocking, jumping, jump half turn, spider, goalkeeping.Group 3 further (16/Us & 14/Us teams) develop the basic and core skills and learn tactical skills eg setting up the arc,man up etc. Some of the Junior players also train at the Manchester Regional Training Centre.For 2012 the Junior teams will compete in the following competitions:•ASA Academy Girls National Water Polo Competition •ASA North West 14s tournament •Bolton & District 16/Us KO•Bolton & District 12/Us KO•Bolton & District 12/Us league•Manchester & District 16/Us league•Manchester & District 14/Us league•Manchester & District 14/Us tournament•Manchester & District 12/Us tournament•Manchester & District Boys 18/Us tournament•Manchester & District Girls 17s tournament •Manchester & District Girls 15s tournamentSchool LinksTeachers: Mavis Bent, Paul Costello, Megan PriceSession Times: Wednesday 4.00 - 4.30 This session provides an introduction to water polo for local primary school children. In 2011 St Mary's won the 2011 English SchoolsSwimming Association (ESSA) Intermediate Girls Water Polo Competition.
