In 2003 Tyldesley Swimming and Water Polo Club became not only the first
club in the Northern Counties (ASA North West) to be awarded Swim 21 accreditation in teaching and skill development but also
the only club in Wigan Borough to achieve Swim 21. To mark this special occasion the officials of the club and
their partners were invited, along with the Wigan Aquatic Development Officer, Jane Bent, to a mayoral reception at the
Town Hall, Wigan.
