Tyldesley's
best-ever National League season ended with a 10-6 defeat of Hucknall and a 16-5 demolition
of Manchester. Mike Cowburn made sure of finishing the division's top goal scorer by adding six against
Hucknall and seven in the Manchester game - a grand haul of
74 for the year and 23 goals in front of his nearest rival.
Tyldesley
deservedly clinched the sixth British Championship qualifying place by heading the lower section of the Division One table.
"This is the first time we have reached the British Championship as of right - a milestone for our club," said delighted
coach Alan Cowburn. "We put a new management structure in place this season and it has really paid dividends. As a fairly
small club, we feel it is a great achievement."
