In 2003 as part of its 150th Anniversary celebrations Skipton Building Society sponsored 1000
teenagers to attend an Outward Bound course. James Harrison was selected from Worsley College to attend a week long
course at the Loch Eil Outward Bound centre in Scotland in July. The courses were designed to give the teenagers the
opportunity to enjoy outdoor activities and to help them develop skills in leadership, problem solving, compassion, tolerance
and comuunication.
In March 2004 James was one of 16 participants on the courses to be invited to the headquarters
of the Skipton Building Society to meet and be presented with a certificate from His Royal Highness The Duke of York
who is the the patron of Outward Bound.
